NZSG had a terrific turn out at the webinar on Wednesday 30 March with a host President Zoe Raos who was joined
Professor Jennifer Martin, Chair Clinical Pharmacology in the School of Medicine and Public Health at the University of Newcastle shared her experiences from the Australian outbreaks discussing common IBD medications, COVID infections and the effect on the immune system drawing on cases of real world immune suppressed consult patients.
Dr Martin was followed by Dr Rebekah Lane, Infectious Disease Physician presented on a multidisciplinary approach working in Auckland.
The presentations concluded with Professor Richard Gearry, Gastroenterology and Endoscopy Specialist who suggested a team approach for the care of the IBD patient with COVID.
Dr Russell Walmsley joined the speakers to answer questions from those present to share insight into care of patients.
