NZSG Executive Hard at Work

Our Executive has been doing a lot of mahi since our last newsletter

The Executive Committee has managed to progress many projects this past two months. We've shared a few in this panui.

We'd like to share a few other key pieces of work:

  • We have set a hui with Health New Zealand and the Transition Unit for May. This meeting will be an opportunity for the Society to share information on the profession as well as asking important questions on the workforce.

  • We are reaching out to other professional societies who are working on sustainability. We will meet with individuals from Australia and the UK in Mid-May.

  • The Executive is working to finalise our very first Strategic Plan which will be shared with members shortly.

  • Ongoing input with workforce streams with the MOH

  • Match 2022 planning is underway with revisions in the CV for new applicants and selection process.

  • We are considering a regular webinar series and will share the progress of this once finalised.

That's just a small snippet of what the Executive has been doing since our February panui.

In closing I'd like to share a terrific article I read in the British Society of Gastroenterology newsletter on the importance of workforce data especially in the COVID reality. It made me consider our professions data, collection and use as we a new chapter with Haura Aotearoa/Health NZ. You can find the article here

I’d also like to share information from other organisations the Executive have been made aware of which can be found on our website news and events page.
