Royal Australasian College of Physicians Awards, Medals and Honorary Fellowship

To acknowledge the outstanding achievements of its members the College grants several medals and awards each year. The awards provide an opportunity for the College and its membership to recognise and celebrate the accomplishments of members.


The Society Executive encourage you to consider making a nomination for one or more of the awards.

Summary of RACP Honorary Fellowship and Fellowship Committee Medals and Awards

RACP Honorary Fellowship nominations close 21 October in time for review and approval at the November Fellowship Committee meeting. The award of Honorary Fellowship is a prestigious appointment made by the RACP Board, conferred upon distinguished or renowned members of the medical profession and other eminent persons, whether or not those eminent persons are members of the medical profession. The John Sands Medal nominations close 30 September 2022The John Sands College Medal is  presented to a Fellow in recognition of a significant contribution to the welfare of the College. This award provides an opportunity to recognise the substantial and influential contribution the award recipient has made over several years. The College Medal nominations close 30 September 2022 The College Medal is presented to a Fellow in recognition of a significant contribution to medical specialist practice to improve the health of the/our people.
