The last course of 2022 was held in August but our facilitator, Dr Judy Huang, is already looking forward to 2023
In August, the last Introduction to Endoscopy course for 2022 was held at the Olympus training suites in Albany. Ten trainees attended the one-day course with sessions from enthusiastic faculty across gastroenterology and surgical endoscopists from around the country.
The Society has invested in this course with the purchase of three additional stomach models for trainees to practice their techniques with tricks and tips shared by the facilitators. We have also purchased five new tip-control colonoscopy boxes, nicknamed Gelato Boxes, which were purposely built for the course, based on the much-loved Dinosaur Boxes.
A new element of the course, Ergonomic of Endoscopy, was added in August with an active session to help prevent endoscopy related injury and fatigue. Feedback from the course was excellent.
Dr Haung and the team are already planning courses for 2023 with the first tentatively scheduled for Monday 20 February. If you would like to be placed on the waiting list for this course, please complete the application form found on the NSZG webpage holding additional information on the course.
