The Society accepts SRG applications in January and July. In our July 2022 round three submissions were awarded a grant.

The bacterial landscape of precancerous colorectal lesion lead by Jessica Anne Permain.

This study aims to characterise the microbiome of different types of pre-cancerous lesions (e.g. sessile serrated adenomas and conventional adenomas) and identify associations between different molecular characteristics.

Inflammatory Bowel Disease Lifestyle Food and Exercise (IBD-LiFE) intervention for cardiovascular health lead by Jia Min Yap.

This randomised controlled trial aims to assess whether adults with IBD will respond to a lifestyle intervention (nutrition and exercise) to mitigate heart disease risk factors. This research could potentially initiate changes in the current IBD diet and exercise paradigm.

Improving dietary intake of children with Inflammatory Bowel Disease with a telehealth-based dietetic intervention: a randomised controlled feasibility trial lead by Stephanie Brown.

The objectives of this randomised feasibility study are to determine whether a 3-month dietetic intervention compared with standard care improves the dietary nutrient intake and subsequent food-related quality of life (FRQoL) of children with CD who are not taking partial enteral nutrition (PEN).

If you are interested in applying for a grant, please see the NZSG SRG webpage for further information.
