MCNZ is looking for assessors to assist assessing core competencies of International Medical Graduates (IMGs)

MCNZ assesses core competencies of IMGs deemed eligible for provisional vocational registration (assessment pathway) via a vocational performance assessment (VPA). The Council is seeking vocationally-registered doctors who wish to apply for the role of VPA assessor.

About the role

A VPA is a one-day workplace assessment conducted by two assessors registered in the same vocational scope as that applied for by the IMG. Both assessors will be onsite, observing and interacting with the doctor and their colleagues, with reference to a set of assessment tools. Typically, these tools include a review of patient records, case-based orals, peer interviews, and direct observation of procedural skills.

Expression of Interest

MCNZ welcomes expressions of interest across all vocational scopes and has asked the Society for assistance in having additional gastroenterologists as assessors.
