The Trainees Day was held 27-28 February 2 months BC (before COVID)
Late summer sun welcomed our eager hard working trainees from across the country for a very well attended trainees day in Auckland this year. With 21 attendees we had a packed program to titivate the cerebrum of our trainees over the next 2 days. Together with our very gracious and able speakers from Waitemata, Auckland, Waikato and Hawkes Bay DHBs we navigated through a breadth of luminal, functional, motility, HPB and endoscopy sessions; furnishing our trainees with some great tools to apply to their clinical practice. A lively debate on the place of regional runs broke up the heavy concentration, raising a few laughs and sparking interesting discussion. The trainees enjoyed the conference and delicious dinner with excellent feedback received all thanks to our sponsors, Pharmaco. The annual trainees day gives our trainees the space and chance to learn, ask questions, meet one another, network and relax in a friendly open environment. We are extremely grateful to all our invited speakers for their valuable time and wisdom and to our generous sponsors Pharmaco who so kindly facilitate this annual opportunity.
We had an broad range of speakers including Dr Zoe Raos, Dr Nathan Atkinson, Dr John Perry, Prof Stephen Munn, Dr Hannah Beh, Dr Frank Weilert, Dr Marius van Rijnsoever, Dr Ana Braithwaite-Flores and Dr James Fulforth.
