The Society are pleased to provide a $10,000 grant for this important initiative
IBD Smart, a smartphone platform that allows patients to communicate their symptoms to healthcare professionals has proven to be a valuable tool. The covid19 pandemic called for innovative management of all patients and especially those with chronic illnesses.
The Society was approached to support the final stages of the rollout and were happy to support this important initiative with a one-off grant. IBDsmart is already being offered in Dunedin and Central Otago with approximately 50 patients using it. The national roll-out of the app has now started and healthcare professionals are being contacted with an invitation to use IBDsmart with their patients.
