Changes to the Executive

We thank:

Professor Catherine Stedman as she steps down from the Executive as our Immediate Past President. Catherine has been a member of the Executive since 2021. During her time on the Executive she helped strengthen governance, saw us increase our reserves, and was instrumental in helping us reregister as an Incorporated Society and revise our Constitution.

Dr Rajan Patel a member of the Executive since 2024 Rajan held the role of Secretary in 2025. He assisted the Society in development of the Membership Platform and revisions to the Small Research Grant programme.

Dr Andrew Thushyanthan will step down from being a Trainee Representative as he is awarded his letters. Andrew has helped organise the 2024 & 2025 Trainees' Days and assisted in the creation of the University of Auckland - Student Gastroenterology Interest Group.

and we WELCOME

Dr James Kang as the nominated Trainees' Rep for 2025. is currently a second-year Gastroenterology trainee based at Wellington Regional Hospital, completing his first training year at Middlemore Hospital, and in 2026 will finish advanced training as the Endoscopy Fellow at Waikato Hospital. We look forward to seeing Dr Kang around the Executive table.
