Train the Colonoscopy Trainer Course
The latest Train the Colonoscopy Course was successfully held at Olympus Live in Albany and Waitakere Hospital over August 18-19.
Six Trainees from Taranaki, Gisborne, Whakatane, Christchurch, Manukau and Wellington participated in a fully immersive 2-day learning experience including adult learning theory, Framework for Skills Teaching, feedback, assessment and trainer competencies, Kokan model hands on scenarios and real patient colonoscopy cases with peer review critical reflection.
NZSG wish to thank Olympus for technical and physical support and the management and nursing staff at Te Whato Ora Waitemata for help making this course a success.
A big shout out to my fellow faculty of Dr Jim Brooker, Mr Mike Hulme-Moir, Dr Lesley-Anne Smith and Dr Kyle Hendry, whose enthusiasm and knowledge helped keep us on track though a couple of intense days.
We are hoping to have a course in the South Island in March 2024, with another in August in Auckland.
Please apply to NZSG Office to join the wait list of candidates.
Nga mihi
