Changes to the Executive
We said farewell to:
Dr Dominic Ray-Chaudhuri long serving member of the Executive and Clinical Director of NZTLU.
Dr Thomas Caspritz long serving member helping to create the Eru Pōmare Medal.
Dr Rachel Harry member of the Executive and Equity Working Group.
Dr Vicki McGarrigle Trainee Representative in 2023.
Dr Zoë Raos long serving member of the Executive and Immediate Past President.
We welcome two new Executive Members who were voted in at the 2023 AGM.
Dr Rajan Patel is a Consultant Gastroenterologist with an interest in IBD and Advanced Luminal Endoscopy. Raj moved to Aotearoa in 2020 from London. He currently works in Christchurch after starting his NZ career in Rotorua. Dr Patel’s aims while on the Exec are to improve patient care by drawing on his experience and bringing a holistic approach including Tele-Health.
Dr Mehul Lamba is a Senior Medical Officer Gastroenterologist working in Christchurch with extensive experience in interventional endoscopy overseas. Dr Lamba has published research on this topic. With his extensive overseas experience Mehul hopes to share his knowledge and understanding with the Executive. Dr Lamba’s aim is to improve training and education for future gastroenterologists as an NZSG Executive Member.
We also welcome Dr Erin Horsfall to the Executive as the 2024 Trainee Representative.
